BLIS® (BLIND SPOT INFORMATION SYSTEM) WITH CROSS-TRAFFIC ALERT AND TRAILER COVERAGE

If you pull a large trailer with your Ford Super Duty,® an enhanced version of available BLIS® (Blind Spot Information System) with Cross-Traffic Alert is offered especially for you. It provides coverage for not only the truck you’re driving but also the trailer you’re towing. The system supports trailers up to 33 feet long.

FORDPASSTM LANE-KEEPING ALERT

A camera mounted behind the windshield scans road lane markings and detects an unintended lane departure during day or night. When the system detects you’re drifting outside your lane, available Lane-Keeping Alert warns you through a series of steering wheel vibrations, which simulate driving over a rumble strip. There’s also the Driver Alert mode. It can recognize repeated lane drifting as a sign of tiredness and issue visual and audio alerts that it’s time to pull over and take a break.

PRE-COLLISION ASSIST WITH AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING (AEB) AND FORWARD COLLISION WARNING

Working on the job or getting to your weekend destination should be free of on-road surprises. But hazards along the way can arise. This available feature scans the road ahead and can alert you to potential collisions with vehicles detected in your path. If an impact becomes imminent and you don‘t take corrective action, the brakes can apply automatically — but only if it’s necessary.

ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL AND FORWARD COLLISION WARNING WITH BRAKE SUPPORT

Adaptive Cruise Control and Forward Collision Warning with Brake Support takes conventional cruise control to a new level. It lets you select the speed and distance you want to maintain from the vehicle in front of you. When traffic ahead slows down, you automatically do too, and later resume the preset speed when traffic picks back up. Getting too close to the vehicle ahead? Forward Collision Warning with Brake Support can alert you to a potential collision: A head-up display simulating red brake lights will flash on your windshield, and an audible alert will sound. If you don’t react in time, the brakes will precharge and increase sensitivity, providing full responsiveness when you do brake.

MORE POWER TO TOW AND HAUL ON THE JOB

The 2022 Super Duty® features strong performance with a powerful lineup of available engines. There's the available 6.7L Power Stroke® V8 Turbo Diesel which features 1,050 lb.-ft. of torque as well as the available 7.3L gas V8, which features the best gas power ratings in its class. *

7.3L OHV PFI GAS V8

Design a gas-powered V8 built for strenuous duty, hauling heavy loads day in and day out, with commercial-grade durability, performance and efficiency and you get the port fuel-injected 7.3L. This pushrod V8 design optimizes low-end torque, and the variable-cam timing helps to optimize high-output power. And for the durability also required, the 7.3L features a cast-iron block with four-bolt and cross-bolted main bearings plus a forged-steel crankshaft. Want the largest, most powerful gas V8, rated at 430 hp and 475 lbs.-ft of torque, in a heavy-duty pickup?* This is it.

6.7L POWER STROKE®V8 TURBO DIESEL ENGINE

The available 6.7L Power Stroke® V8 Turbo Diesel features a 36,000-psi fuel-injection system, featuring injectors that can atomize fuel up to eight times per stroke to optimize combustion. It also features stronger block, cylinder heads, connector rods and bearings, plus forged-steel pistons, which means 475 hp and 1,050 lb.-ft. of torque at 1,600 rpm. It produces maximum horsepower at a lower RPM than any other engine at 2,600 rpm.* Finally, the engine features an electric-actuated variable-geometry turbocharger that improves throttle response and efficiency.

6.2L FLEX-FUEL GAS V8

The 6.2L flex-fuel gas V8 is the standard engine in F-250 and F-350 models. It's engineered to deliver peak torque at lower rpm and generates high torque throughout the midrange of the power band. The SOHC valvetrain with roller-rocker shafts results in a stiff valvetrain with an optimized intake and exhaust port layout for better breathing. The 6.2L in the F-250 is teamed up with the TorqShift G 6-speed transmission; in the F-350, it features the 10-speed automatic.

TORQSHIFT®10-SPEED AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION

All Super Duty® models (except the 6.2L V8 F-250) feature a standard TorqShift®10-speed automatic transmission, engineered to optimize drive ratios and improve shift performance. You can choose from five selectable modes - Normal, Slippery, Tow-Haul, Eco, Deep Sand/Snow and, with the available Tremor Package, an additional Rock Crawl mode. Ford is the only manufacturer to design and build all of its heavy-duty engine and transmission combinations - ensuring the powertrain works seamlessly with all chassis components and vehicle calibrations.

The 7.3L is the largest engine in a full-size pickup, boasting the best gas horsepower and torque in its class. The top-of-the-line gas engine generates the best gas torque in its class of 475 lb.-ft. at 4,000 rpm along with the best gas horsepower in its class of 430 horsepower at 5,500 rpm. *

DIESEL ENGINE-EXHAUST BRAKING

The 6.7L Power Stroke® Turbo Diesel incorporates a driver-activated engine-exhaust brake. It restricts the turbocharger's exhaust flow to generate back pressure and slow the vehicle, providing greater control while traveling downhill, regardless of vehicle load or road grade. Also, because the engine brake helps minimize having to apply pedal pressure, brake fade and lining wear are reduced, lowering the cost of maintenance. Three settings are available: On, Off and Auto. The Auto setting modulates engine braking as needed to help maintain the speed you want based on accelerator and brake pedal use.
